The Miracle of the Star
Let the light shine upon you, and you will be enlightened.
Why did I make this origami star booklet?
When i folded the origami star I started to think more and more, about the sun, the stars and our place in the universe.
From the beginning of humanity they we looked with admiration at the stars.
For all cultures throughout history the starry sky had great significance and influence.
We live thanks to the sun.
The sun is a star, it gives us light and heat.
All the flowers, trees, insects, animals and people on the land, the fish in the sea, and birds in the air, all life on earth, is thanks to the sun.
How big is the sun?
Take your class outside and put an apple in the middle of the square. With 20 kids hand in hand, you make a big circle around the apple. The apple is the earth, the circle is the size of the sun. For the biggest star that we know, you need more than 2300 children in a big circle.
One grain of sand
If you are on the beach pick up one grain of sand.
The grain of sand represents the sun, the earth and all the planets.
If you look at night to the starry sky, know that there are more stars in the universe, than grains of sand on all the beaches and deserts of all the whole Earth.
Each person is valuable.
ach person needs clean water, food and shelter.
Every person must learn.
Every person needs love and care.
Create beautiful origami designs and give it to everyone which who could use some positive attention.
We live in a very special time.
A time of prosperity, knowledge and awareness. We now have capabilities that are unprecedented.
We can grow more food, look further and better into the Universe and have access to more knowledge than ever in our history. But there every day there are still many new things to learn and to discover.
We are children of the light.
Man often talks about mother earth, I see the sun as the mother and the planets as her children.
Man say that you are what you eat;, what we eat grows by the sun, so we are children of the light.
Learn to give.
In the Japanese culture it is customary when meeting someone to give a nicely wrapped and decorated gift.
Let us therefore at birthdays, graduation, promotion and weddings decorate our gifts with homemade origami.
I would encourage anyone to use this beautiful Japanese tradition to make many people happy.
